February here and gone. It is past mid-March when I am writing this. Time, time, where has the time gone. Carol was in Texas during the month. She left and the winter that wasn't kind of appeared here in the PNW. Seems like it has been raining for a month now. I started a cardiac rehab program at PeaceHealth. I have never worked on exercise equipment before this, so it is all new to me. I think the most productive part is getting out 3 times a week for the 7:00 AM sessions. It begins to become a habit.
Reading this month:
Voices in the Stone: Life Lessons from the Native Way by Kent Nerburn. I enjoyed this book. Insights into how the Native American, more specifically, the Lakota people view life, God, the Cosmos.
"When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light. Give thanks for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food, and give thanks for the joy of living. And if perchance you see no reason for giving thanks, rest assured the fault is in yourself." Ohiyesa
I am an Agatha Christie fan and have read the Hercule Poirot books. Sophie Hannah has continued the series and I got caught up reading the New Hercule Poirot Mysteries. I finished those.
I also read a couple of more books on heart disease. I enjoyed the book by Dr. Malcom Hendrick, The Clot Thickens: The Enduring Mystery of Heart Disease. But that is enough reading on that subject.
Painting:
I purchased a digital copy of Painting Light & Shadow in Watercolor by William B. Lawrence. I don't like the painting books in digital, but the paperback and hardback books were 3-5 times the cost. I read through this, practiced a few things, but I now want to go back and go through slowly and practice. For me, Lawrence's paintings show the real beauty of watercolor. When the month started I thought I would give a try at painting based on Paul Clark videos. "Make it your own." I gave a go at four, but then decided that I just needed to practice and try new things. So I ordered 120 sheets, 9x12, 140lb, cheap watercolor paper ($0.33 per sheet) to use as practice. See the Gallery here. My goal is to use it all by end of April. Practice, practice!!
Stock Market:
Mostly watching - Metals have been on a tear. We had some small positions in a copper company and gold explorers. Sold these, deciding that a profit is a profit.
